Sunny Sunflowers
Sunflowers are my favorite flower. I went to a local Flower Farm this weekend and got to practice shooting with my new Wide Angle Lens...I love the light flare it creates and being able to get a little closer for some macro shots...

Coastal Blooms

When I left for the coast I knew I was going to be shooting a lot of ocean, waves, rocks, sand, etc...but for some reason I never thought about all the amazing foliage I would be seeing along the Washington and Oregon coast...I was blown away by the foxglove, daisies, sweet peas and ferns.
Here are a few of my favorite flower shots...

Love That Shot Photo Walk

My friend Michelle and her sister Misti are the brains behind the camera and behind the screen at Love That Shot, an amazing Photography Community, Blog and Online School. Their website is turning 2 and they organized a Worldwide Photo Walk to celebrate the occasion. Here in Boise, the hometown of the site a group of us gathered in the Rose Garden near downtown and walked thru parts of beautiful downtown Boise shooting whatever caught our eye. We even got Birthday presents (swag!!) :)

Here are a few of my favorite shots from the walk...

Thanks for looking!

I Love Onions...
If you know me well, you know that this statement is not usually true...I Hate Onions! But fields full of onion flowers that go on as far as you can see? I LOVE those! Had to stop and grab photos of these fun flowers!!!
Getting shots from a low angle really added drama...

Low angles also exaggerate the size and proportion, this flower, which is large at about 2" around looks Huge when you only have the sky behind it...

Jump Creek

This weekend my friends Dorinda, Cliff and I took the kids and went to Jump Creek Canyon for a little photography hike. It is a pretty walk with a creek, a small waterfall, rocks, canyon and then at the end, the pool and falls. We wanted to practice our waterfall techniques. I really wanted to get that soft "silk" look on the falls, but I am missing a piece of my tripod and was unable to use a long enough exposure time to truly get the look I wanted. I ended up leaning against a rock and trying to steady my camera that way.
Top of the canyon...

Small falls on the way to Jump Creek Falls...

Jump Creek Falls...

Not sure what this is, but there were two of them right on the side of the pool...
